Heating Instructions

Recommended reheating instructions for precooked smoked meats

If you have an opportunity to thaw our products before heating it will shorten the reheat time to about half.  Here at Mt. Nebo Meats we understand that sometimes we forget to do this and would just like a delicious meal, so I will include times from frozen to accommodate your needs.

Do not take the meat out of the bag or puncture the bag!  This is an important part of the process because all the juices are contained in the bag and will assist in keeping the meat juicy and tender.

Bring pot of water to simmering or a low boil and place package in water for recommended time. The recommended times are close approximation’s.

No matter how you choose to heat your meat, heat it to an internal temperature of 160 degrees and maintain this for 12 seconds.

Chicken – Place in water from thawed for 20 minutes or place in water from frozen for 40 minutes

Pulled Pork 8oz and 1lb – Place in water from thawed for 10 minutes – Place in water from frozen for 20 minutes

Sausage – All sausage is raw and needs to be fully cooked!

Our products can also be microwaved and from our experience, there is no loss in the quality.  We are not currently giving times because of all the variables involved in microwave temperatures.  I’m sure creative minds will find other ways to reheat our products, so please share your success stories with us.  Just remember the required temperature listed above.
